are registry cleaners good for my computer?
i bought a vista in may and have quite a good deal of installing various software and sometimes it starts to freeze and say not responding. should i use a registry cleaner?
Yeah very good. They clean up stuff like software fragments, broken files, cluster, unused items..you name it.
CCleaner is one of the best out there. Your machine benefits as well in terms of performance.
You can also try Tuneup Utilities..works really great on my computer. http://www.tune-up.com/products/tuneup-utilities/

Yes, definitely.
Registry cleaners clean up dead links to software that isn’t there anymore and can speed up a lot of things. It would also be a good idea to defragment the hard drive of the computer as that can slow things down as well.
CCleaner provides a registry clean as well as deletion of temp files.
Defragment is under the tools when you go into the properties of the C: drive.

Get CCleaner. http://www.ccleaner.com
It’s freeware, and it’s pretty thorough. It has a number of good utilities.
It does work with Vista.

I’m afraid you won’t gain as much benefit from using registry cleaner as you might expect.
Registry clean-up mainly includes removing meaningless entries and correcting wrong links. But if there are corrupt values, arguably no software will help. Also, some important keys may be missing because of wrong software uninstallers.
Generally speakings, it depends on a particular case whether a registry cleaner will do a repair or more harm than good.
