How do you remove the adware from a new computer with Vista, and is two gigs really needed for Vista?

Wednesday, March 10th, 2010

Its a Compaq F730us and it has tons of adware.

about the 2 gig, vista needs 1 gig, the programs you use need the other gig, so yes get 2 gig.

about adware, run these two programs = great results

Do all this

Clean Up Computer
===============
Download and run superantispyware. I was put onto this program because of an annoying popup (XP or Vista plus all OS preceding)

http://www.superantispyware.com
Superantispyware is a good program and remember to update it before scanning. A scan may take 45mins.

afterwards clean up the registry with this
Clean up pc and IE
==============
To clean up run this Microsoft’s windows live program. It does registry, spyware , virus , disk clean up and defrag

It takes 2 hours or more so once it starts to load x file of x you can leave the computer and go to bed etc.

XP Users http://onecare.live.com/site/en-ca/defau…

Vista Users http://onecare.live.com/site/en-ca/cente…

Run the full scanner, then at the end of the scan it asks you to set it running full time.

Think twice about setting it to run in the background as it could be another thing to slow you down. However, it may be worth while if you have no other security programs running.

Consider the following options:
I personally run Norton 360 which is full internet security and run superantispyware when I want to.

So if you don’t have a decent internet security program then perhaps run the superantispyware with your antivirus in the background.

If you sick of antivirus programs that don’t work perhaps run onecare full time and run superantispyware whenever.

Now you should be flying and Onecare has even set up a new system restore point for you.

is there a free scan adware removal software that will actually remove adware found during the free trial peri

Saturday, March 6th, 2010

i hear my computer running even when i’m not working on it, i’m wondering if there is adware running. am looking for a free removal tool that will scan AND DELETE any suspicious adware when it finds some during the free trial period. many of them will find adware, but you have to buy to remove it.

Ad-aware is the best adware removal program for windows. Spybot Search and Destroy is good for finding things that ad-aware misses. They both are totally free at download.com

The previous commenter may be right; you might have to reformat and reinstall Windows to really clean it. Do this if ad-aware or spybot turn up more than 100 results.

If you never want to waste time scanning for adware or reinstalling your OS, the real solution is to get a mac: http://apple.com/getamac/

I have Adware and Spyware on my computer which i cant get rid of, help?

Sunday, February 28th, 2010

I’ve recently discovered lots of adware and spyware on my computer. The adware is terrible as I get pop-ups with naked women and pornography randomly coming up on the screen and this is not good with the younger kids go to use the computer. I’m also very wary of accessing my bank accounts and using my debit card on the internet incase the spyware captures my details. My anti virus software can’t detect the adware and spyware at all. I really need help to get rid of this horrible virus!

Keep your anti-spyware solution up to date, and run a full scan every few days. I recommend the free SpyBot Search & Destroy that you can get from http://www.download.com

Good luck and Happy Computing!

How can I take adware off my computer?

Friday, February 26th, 2010

I just purchased a software called kaspersky that was said to take care of this problem .It detected the adware on my computer but does not take it off. The adware that was automatically installed was SPYSHREDDER. Does any one have any idea how to completely take this out my computer Ive tried almost every thing but it still pops out .Ive tried deleting but it doesnt let me. Help?

Kaspersky is one of the best anti-virus programs so your on a good start, but you also need anti-spyware software.

No single program can detect and eradicate all spyware. It is best to use multiple programs, I recommend using Ad-aware and Spybot which are among the best (they are free).

Webroot Spy Sweeper is the best, but it’s not free (see the Consumer Search source for more information).

Running these programs in Safe Mode (tap F8 after powering on the computer and choose to boot to Safe Mode) can be more effective.
